The Collins Portfolio is specifically designed to support implementation of the Collins Writing Program in the middle grades and high school. It encourages the use of a writing-to-learn model in all subject areas and helps students build and retain content area knowledge--while simultaneously improving their writing skills. The Portfolio is a working and learning folder, focusing on Type Three and Type Four writing. It helps students set learning goals, provides a record of progress, serves as a source of past papers for use as a study tool and encourages students to reflect on their own learning. Each package of 25 folders includes a Portfolio Guide and a Teacher Implementation Portfolio folder.
